The Endless Summer

This morning we went to the flea market and there it was:
the soundtrack of The Endless Summer.

I saw the poster last week in Berlin. The movie is amazing and I have been looking for the record for some time now. The one I saw today was a bit too expensive but I'm sure one day I will find one for a good price.

see you,
Kay

Berlin vintage

Here some more photos from the flea markets in Berlin.
I wish I had bought the cute penguin and the red chest drawers.
(that one would look so good in Nila's room.)

enjoy the rest of the week,
Kay

PS: We had some coffee and lemonade here:  Pomeranza.
Nice shop and very friendly owner. Bought some nice gifts there too.

Safti ( new toy)

At the market on Saturday at the Prenzlauer Berg I got  myself
a little summer toy, Safti (a mini juicer). Only cost me about 3 euros.

It looks so vintage so I checked and found out they started to make them in the Fifties.

Now I just have to get lots of lemons and oranges...
and some more sunshine.

see you

ABCD......

Yesterday at the Arkonaplatz flea market.
I do like that market. It is small but the atmosphere is good
and you can still find bargains there.
Just all the pretty letters where a bit expensive .
Still looking for K.

see you
Kay

PS: got myself a book from Volker Kutscher, it's about Berlin in the 30s.

oh Berlin

I'm amazed how friendly the  people in Berlin are!
The weather is fine and we had so many plans but we are just walking around enjoying the city.

You can find me here every morning for breakfast

This is the first time we rent an apartment with internet connection. Not sure if I like it.

Having a good time.
We have been on the hunt for some Kraftwerk records.

One of the first things I did was a trip to the hairdresser.

Sir Gerald Kelly

On the way to Berlin we stopped at a little junk shop in Germany and there she was. "Saw Ohn Nyun" by Sir Gerald Kelly. I have been looking for her for a long time...

At the moment I am totally over the moon. I know a great place for her in my living room.

That was the perfect start of our holiday.

Take care,

Kay

lazy traveller

After reading  Mihaeko's blog Starling Brood  this morning, I realize  how much I miss New York City. I know that  I started to be a lazy and less adventurous  traveller. Guess I'm lucky that my family in the States loves to travel!

How will you spend your summer??
City, beach, mountains, ... or at home??

see you,
Kay

PS: what are you reading? (need some new books)

About 10 minutes from my house there was a field full of Poppies.

At the moment the weather is perfect for me.I still have to finish some projects.

For Berlin I would love some days without rain, lol... just want to sit in some of the small cafes and drink coffee.

PS: If you are in Amsterdam this summer you should visit the new film museum, the building is amazing.

holidays

yeah we got summer holiday...

Before we go to Berlin at the end of the week, I have a big list of things I want to do in the house before we go. Cleaning my kitchen cupboards is one of them (not my fav).

We had a good time in Berlin last year. Really looking forward to go back there. You all know I love cities in the summer.

Also it will be nice to see some of my friends there and I want to visit some museums. Tips are welcome.

Have a good weekend.
Kay

PS:
Because of the holidays I will not go to the gym but I promised myself I will go for a run and do some exercises at home and on the beach.

My lucky find this morning, a pretty album cover.

I'm thinking of starting a small collection of
Neue Deutsche Welle (new german wave) records,
Guess I need some help from my German readers there.

last sunday

Sorry for not being in touch but I have been busy getting ready for the Sunday market. I had a great day again. The people who come to the market are amazing. I was happy and full of energy when I got home.

This time I had a vintage royalty over to help me at my stall, Merle aka Troedelhaus is over to stay with me for a couple of days... lots of vintage talking and swapping goes on here at the moment. We have some crazy ideas for the future... Tell you more later.

see you soon
Kay

PS: Jane came to see me at the markt, she is lovely.
