daily life

The last couple of days I spent cleaning and sorting out some of our vintage. Also Nila had a bad flu, so I was busy trying to get her to feel better. Summer flu's suck.

Still on my wallpaper trip. Guess I would love some wallpaper in our bedroom and in Nila's room.

Enjoy the long weekend coming up.

PS: The pottery from Lucie Rie is amazing. Looking for her books, love to find them secondhand.

good oldfashion way

The old fashioned way of life. Buying groceries at your local corner store.

A trip to the seaside, leaving my phone at home. Guess we should do that more often. Walking, talking, silence and laughing.

How is your week going? I'm still working on my deadline and really looking forward getting it finished, so I can go out again.

After all our hard work decorating the house we had a little break in the garden with Kiwi lemonade from France and strawberries.

easy living

Get rid of the should's in life
and try to do what you feel like you
ought to do.

In the moment my current  vintage obsession ,
a vintage flower books from  the 50s and 60s.

Also I love the color green , special that fresh spring green ( second photo).
Manage to catch a summer cold..that is really unfair.

See you soon

homebodies

In the moment I spend most of my money on
vintage vinyl and art (prints)

Dreaming about green hair, just love the idea

Enjoying my garden, especially my tomato plants

Still working on my deadline and there is still so much to do. One more week to go.

Mister Kay and I are crazy about Lemon Tiramisu in the moment. We normally get it from our fav Italian restaurant but I think it's time to try making it ourselves. Could be nice for our next summer party.

see you soon,
Kay

wallpaper

I have always been a fan of wallpaper and finally last week I managed to convince Mister Kay to have a go.

We got the wallpaper from Ikea from the Brakig collection. We both love it and now we want more! Fancy Woods  from Cole & Son for the office. Also Fine Little Day has a nice range.

Here in the Netherlands the best place is De Mooiste Muren in Haarlem. Any of those take your fancy?

See you soon,
Kay

A Hendy's Home Store

Alister Hendy's Home Store in Old Town Hastings is the most amazing shop I have seen for a long time. I really enjoyed shopping there and I'm very happy with my new purchase of old fashioned cleaning tools.

The window display is so original and refreshing, it took my breath away. It took more then 3 years to restore the building. Make sure you have a trip to the past and visit the shop one day.

see you,
Kay

wild at heart

Some of my girlfriends have amazing houses. One of them is Karen, an artist, designer, painter, stylist, mother and and... she has so many skills. I could spend hours looking around at her home and still find new treasurers and inspiration.

Enjoy your Sunday,
Kay

PS: Love the work from Emily Sutton.

Ups she did it again!

Marti had one of her amazing vintage pop-up stores in Whitstable again. Only for a week, but I'm sure she sold a lot. I did get a really nice book from her shop.

Margate Retro General Store

I wish the Margate Retro General Store was close to my home... so I could go there everyday. Pure vintage heaven with a touch of chocolate cake I would call it.

As you all know I'm a big Margate fan and spend lots of time in the old town.

see you,
Kay

PS: It was great to see Tom Swift, who has a studio opposite the General Store.

At the seaside

There is no better place then the seaside... we needed a little break. Finally there was time to sleep and to read.

As you can see I'm on my way home... if the weather is good I should be back home
in a couple of days.

Hope you all well

See you,
Kay
