Corner View - The great outdoors

The great outdoors. At the moment I am obsessed with blue flowers and I always take a book with me when I go hunting for blue flower fields.

The first picture is a field of commercially grown Muscari botryoides (Grape Hyacinth) in the Netherlands (close to Lisse). The Bluebell Forest is in Kent near Canterbury.

It is a beautiful shade of blue. I have hyacinth bulbs near my front door (they flowered a month ago), and I'd never known of a bluebell forest!

I love these flowers, they remind me of my childhood- probably because they used to grow in my granny's garden when I was a little girl.

i think blue flowers were considered a symbol of poetry by the romantics, weren't they? well, if not, i think they should ;)

This is why it would be quite dangerous for me to live in the Netherlands... I would never get any work done because I would be out admiring the flower fields all day. The canola is in bloom and beautiful right now... it was great to see all the yellow fields from the plane today when we flew in... yeah, I'm back, but feeling slightly jet lagged.

what beautiful color. we have purple violets blooming in the woods here that are that color - it is so intense against the brown and green of forest.
