I read The god of small things by Arundhati Roy for the first time this summer, and fell in love with everything, the story, the characters, the language..

I've heard that "I Was Told There'd Be Cake" good. I'm reading the "Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis... very intriguing!

Hmm... I'm usually a reader. But I'm sorry to say it hasn't been very much since I got the kids. Hope to start again :)

Maybe something about Italo Calvino or Alessandro Baricco. Both italian writers. Both in a world full of imagination.
Perfect for summer days.

my summer-must for several years now: "Dandelion Wine" by ray bradbury ...

it reminds me of this special summer-feeling as a kid ...

you should read "her fearful symmetrie" by audrey niffenegger. she writes about familiar relationships in a lovely and at the same time spooky way. i read it this summer in about 4 days - pretty good!!

if you're into humour and want something not too heavy, I'm a massive fan of nick hornby myself.
