I sold my West German Pottery aka Fat Lava collection today.

Now my home is empty, but my collection went to a good new 

home and this means I can start all over again.

We are off to Berlin ...

I'm sure I will  bring back some vintage

and  find some new places to hang out.

summer giveaway

We just got back from a trip to Brussels and I tell you I need a friend there (who can show me more of the city). It's the 3rd time I have been there but there is still so much to see. Wonderful city.

One of the highlights for me was a trip to the Atomium. What a great place, a must see if you come to Europe this summer. I found a beautiful midmodern poster in the Atomium shop to give away. It will look great in a vintage home.

Anita Nylund

Yesterday I was lucky to find three ceramic storage containers with wooden lid from the late 50s begin 60s. Designed by the legendary Anita Nylund, made by Gantofta pottery in Sweden and they are  from the series "Var Lilla Stad".

summer in the city Antwerpen

Antwerpen is very much my kind of city, I could easy live there.

The look of the summer 2011, dress with  boots and a cool handbag

looks very boheme, love the look.

lots  of vintage shops.

After a good day in Antwerpen without rain, bringing home some chocolates, magazines and shoes from Bensimon. Our next trip will be to Brussels.There are some great museums and wonderful Art Nouveau buildings.

veggie plot

Our veggie plot looks good this year but at the moment with all the rain we don't spent much time in the garden.

This weekend I have been searching the web for a second holiday destination. Prague or Stockholm or a nice hotel at the german seaside. Any ideas or tips? Love to hear them!

-I wanted to buy the Roberts radio but it was not for sell, such a beauty
-no ,no I did not buy the BayCityRoller record ,but I was thinking about it.

WHB wall unit

This wall unit was my best find on the flea market last weekend. It's made by  the german company WBH in the 50s or 60s but I can't find much information about the unit or the company. It would be nice though to find some more pieces to extent it.

Now I have to change my whole living room to find a place for it (that will be fun, lol)

Last sunday at the flea market in Duesseldorf.
Lots of sun, beautiful people and great vintage.

Mister Kay is still working but soon he will join our lazy summer life! Our first trip will be to BERLIN, so  I will be grabbing a city guide, my camera and venturing off to scope the flea markets and vintage shops in Berlin.

I have to thank Kristina from mostly  Berlin. She was a great help to find a place to stay.

Vondelpark

If you are  in Amsterdam this summer check out the Vondelpark. In the weekends they have free concerts & theater. We went for a picnic and enjoyed the band Koffie a couple of weeks ago.

Got some new vases. Both West Germany pottery. 
There is a Pottery and Glass forum . Great place if you want to know more about ceramic (and especially
West German pottery) and glass.

Life is good this week:

• not getting up before nine  (normally 6:30)
• reading the newspapers in bed ( normally on the train)
• having breakfast at home ( normally in town)
• yoga  in the garden ( normally with my yoga teacher in class)
• no make up ( normally yes)
• staying up late ( normally in bed before midnight) 
• eating chocolate everyday ( normally only in the weekend)
• reading, reading, reading  ( normally two pages and I fall asleep, lol)

Holidays

  yippee... summer holidays...

but we still have no holiday destination.

We want some days on the beach for the long walks  &  fresh air

And some days in the city for museums & vintage   

so I guess The Best is yet to come
