2012 a good year

@2012 I liked  you...
You brought many good moments... happy things... not many sad moments. You were colorful and made me stronger... yes, I really liked you.

The best moments, ideas, new loves of 2012:

• best music: Studio One Funk
• series: Homeland and the Killing 3
• new secret passion: nail polish (my number one: Knees up from Butter London)
• started a new collection of vintage records (like Dave Brubecks Greates Hits)
• my best move:  a little vintage stall at the Sunday market in Amsterdam from Spring till November
• fav town: Hasting Old Town... so much energy there
• books... really enjoy Yvette van Boven's Cookbooks
• Olympic Games was one of my summer highlights
• great idea was to paint my living room cupboard light grey (yeah, makes me happy)
• totally love Mister Kays mobiles, they look so good in our living room
• being so active and full of energy
• best vintage find: "Saw Ohn Nyun" by Sir Gerald Kelly
• Hus & Hem Retro is my fav magazine of the year (guess I should learn Swedish), also like the German magazine Couch
• I spent money on Trainers
• best food moment at Marits
• really enjoyed spending time with some of my girl friends, hope to see them again soon
• Mister Kays highlight of the year, the Calder exhibiton in Den Haag.

There where so many more good moment ...

Looks like I'm having a trip to Paris with my cousins from the States! That will be interesting.
Guess Graceland would be nice too (did you here that, Mister Kay???)

My mum has an amazing collection of vintage Christmas ornaments. Totally love the wooden angels, not sure how old they are.

• Mum knitted groovy  socks for the whole family 
• Homemade Christmas cookies everywhere
• Wonderful Christmas coffee moments with friends and family, love when people decorated their house and make an effort when you come for coffee
• Crazy gifts... one of my girl friends collected Vogue magazine for me, all issues from the last year.

Vintage red coat (a bit too big), red nail polish (so pretty), red berries (a must have), takeaway star (very handy when you are driving home for Christmas), red and white Christmas crackers (not homemade) and red paper chains.

one more day

 Always wanted silver shoes.

My idea is to go ice skating this winter. A couple of weeks ago I managed

to find some vintage ice skates.

Knitting a scarf as a Christmas gift for Nila... I should finish it in time.

One more day to go and our Christmas holidays start. I'm tired so I'm looking forward to have some time on my couch.

In the moment I spent my evenings watching Christmas cooking shows on BBC2. Specially the baking part... like Yule log.

Nigella Lawson and Nigel Slater are my favs this year.

Tinsel Tree

 

This year I dedicate my Christmas tree to my father.

I have wonderful child memories decorating the tree together with my dad. He was a fan of Tinsel (Lametta). This year we used vintage ornaments, elfs and a lot of  tinsel.

My home is ready! Now I have time to watch Christmas movies and bake (eat) cookies.

We went to the Winter Market in Rotterdam yesterday.
Every year I try to go to this market. It's small but the atmosphere is so nice there.
This year Erika from Mikodesign teamed up with Muswerp and Jessica Nielsen.
Really the perfect place to find some unusual Christmas gifts.
