free hugs 2014
We are still on Christmas holidays for another week. Enjoying lazy and beautiful days. There is still a stack of unread books and some films I wanted to watch for a long time. This morning in town I manged to find some free hugs, which made my day.
I'm ready to turn a new leaf, to embrace all what 2014 has in store for us. Got the feeling it will be a good year (four is my fav number). Hope you find some magic in 2014.

Into the wild
On Boxing Day Mister Kay took me on a trip "into the wild". For a city lover I had an amazing day and sure we will make some more trips into the wild... soon.
There is also a new dutch movie out. De nieuwe wildernis which shows how beautiful the dutch countryside is.
see you,
Kay

driving home for Christmas
I grew up celebrating Christmas in the most traditional way possible. In the beginning I used to go home for Christmas to spend time with my family.
For the last 30 years I have been traveling to the States, Italy, Germany or the UK celebrating Christmas wherever I was in December. So at first is was strange for me to spend Christmas at home in the Netherlands... but then we enjoyed it very much because it's so relaxed and we don't have to travel. Guess it's time to start a few new Christmas traditions...
- having a nice Christmas cake, normally we bake cookies
- watching a Christmas movie together
- making Christmas ornament
- playing records
- wearing silly Christmas sweaters
Enjoy some peaceful Christmas days,
Kay

winter wonderland
In October I saw this cute winter wonderland dress at theWhiting Post in Whitstable. Normally I don't wear dresses like this but I would hang that one on my bedroom wall.
Coming weekend is filled with nice Christmas parties and I'm really looking forward going out with my girlfriends... not sure which dress I will wear.
see you,
Kay

Last Sunday we went to Utrecht to visit the Christmas (Weihnachts) party from Urlaub.
What a great party! I must say the Urlaub shop is amazing and all the people are very friendly and creative. Definitely a place I should visit more often.

vintage Christmas
It took me about 3 years to find enough vintage Christmas tree ornaments to do a whole tree. I noticed last year it is getting more and more difficulty to find them.
Now I just hope that my cats dont climb the tree... normally the are not very interested.
enjoy,
Kay

Oh Tannenbaum
In the last couple of years I spent lots of time in museums.
The Rijksmuseum has an amazing tree this year. If you don't feel like visiting the museum you could easily just have a coffee there and then go ice skating.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Kay
PS:
- totally love Pokey LaFarge.
- Jane Cabrera's home looks so pretty at Christmas time.

Scandinavian Embassy
If you are in the mood for some really good coffee, talking about food and in need for some slow time the Scandinavian Embassy is the perfect place to be. The owners, Nicolas (the coffee champion) and Rikard (the foodie), are perfect hosts.
Sure I will be back there soon.
